On November 19, North York General Hospital had the honour of once again being awarded Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures of 2015: Broader Public Sector. The award is founded and presented by Waterstone Human Capital, a leading retained executive search firm specializing in recruiting for fit. Awards are presented to organizations with cultures that have helped them enhance performance and sustain a competitive advantage.
A supportive and collaborative culture is a foundation to providing patients with exceptional care and North York General is proud to be an organization that promotes a culture of innovation, creativity, and learning and development at every level and within every discipline.
The hospital's ongoing commitment to advance care through teaching and learning was outlined in the 2015-2018 strategic plan. Through the NYGH Centre for Education, the Exploration Fund and the recently appointed Research Chair in Family and Community Medicine in a Canadian community hospital, North York General is a leader in community academic hospitals in Canada.
The hospital's external partnerships are also providing further opportunities for collaboration, learning and creating overall system impact. The Leadership and Organizational Development Consortium (LODC) and Joint Centres for Transformative Healthcare Innovation are supporting a culture of creativity and thought leadership within the hospital and beyond.
The hospital will be formally recognized at the Canada's 10 Corporate Culture Summit and Awards Gala in February 2016.
